Christians have a terrible reputation in the world for being lazy. It wouldn't bother me when the world speaks evil of us except in this case it is often true. Especially among the ministers. Some of you no doubt know exactly what I'm talking about. Preacher gets a job, makes sure everyone knows that he's a preacher at such and such church and spends the majority of the time talking on the bosses dime. The people around him have to work even harder to make up for his lack of industriousness while he tries to make them understand how blessed they are to have him around. It may seem mundane but, I believe a good days work is as powerful a wittiness as telling everyone what a great christian you are.
Another thing that seems to go hand in hand is that preachers are always wanting something for free. They want a discount because they are ministers, they want things for the church for free. Sadly they really think that the world owes it to them. Why would someone who doesn't subscribe to your religion feel like they owe you anything because you represent a religion that they don't believe in? What message does this give them? Is Christ a beggar? I encourage you to give full price for everything along with a substantial tip. Christ taught give give give not gimme gimme gimme.
Remember Proverbs 24:29-31.
